Kristy Cates in Toronto's Wicked Tour

Kristy Cates was an amazing Elphaba up here in Toronto. She may not be the ever wailing pop voice that people have become so accustomed to for this role, but she still has an amazing voice with incredible power. I saw her do it twice and absolutely loved her both times. I'm hoping she will eventually land the role permanently because she does an awesome job vocally, comedically, and dramatically.

I completely agree. I saw her do it twice as well and was blown away...

HMMM I didn't quite connect to her as Elphaba the way I wanted to. Musically she is very talented but I was kinda missing the well, rage that is under Elphaba's acceptance of her lot. And frankly, that rage also drives the power up for the singing.
