Tony Kushner did not write BRUNDIBAR. It was written by Hans Krasa. What he probbaly did was adapt it into English. But to call it Tony Kushner's Brandibar is an insult to the orginal composer/librettist. Tony Kushner must have a very big ego indeed if he's willing to take the credit for himself, adapting a work for which he has no ownership whatsoever.
