Alright guys. I'm a Jew currently in Columbia, South Carolina. In Shiksa goddess, he says "the jcc of spring valley is shaking..." The community i live in is Spring Valley, and yes, we have a JCC. And then in moving too fast he says that he's glad he's left Columbia. I don't know the book. Does he mean Columbia the college? Or is he from Columbia, SC...is this a stretch? Anyone have a clue?
I'm pretty sure he went to Columbia University. But that's an interesting point. I did the show, and it never specified what "Columbia" meant, I just assumed it was college.
I'm not all too familiar with the show, but I thought it was Columbia University - and there's a town called Spring Valley across the river from NYC. I figured maybe he grew up there. Though, your interpretation works too!

And yes, it's the Spring Valley in Rockland. Jason grew up in Rockland County.
Columbia university
Definately Columbia University. In the Libretto he talks to his old professor. His old professor is the one who gets him the book deal....(little piece of info)
If you can, get the libretto to the L5Y's because there are a few really amazing monologues in there, and they help you understand the show more!:)
