I don't know who he was with, but he was just as gorgeous :)

It was fun seeing Bryan Batt in the lobby and then the standbys/understudies join for the BEST OF TIMES singing curtain call. Ms. and Ms. O'Donell were in the Marquis "limo alley" on their own right after the show (probably trying to beat the crush of exiting) and i told her "thanks for all you still do for Broadway." She asked me how i liked the show, i said i thought it was great, and she agreed. It was fun.

and that would be exactly why they had those empty rows between the publicly sold seats and the comped seats.
I didn't notice any voice crack by Davis, and I was paying a lot of attention to the singing, camparing it to the other times I've heard them sing it. I don't doubt that the crack happened but it wasn't obvious in the least. I did pick up on a bunch of the mistakes in the dialogue, most notably during the scene before "Masculinity". But I thought the voices were in great form last night.
So far, this is my favorite quote from a review. I want this to be on their marquee. Kissel writes:
"As Jean-Michel, Gavin Creel sports a weird ponytail, which doesn't make much sense, but he sings beautifully."

BroadwayMatt, I thought the ponytail was an improvement of the fluffy wig they had him in early on in previews.

oh I'm a fan of the ponytail. I think he wears it well and I like that it helps the gag at the beginning of his 1st scene where the audience thinks that he is Georges' young lover, as per Albin's fears. I really haven't lost any sleep over the issue, I mainly like that quote from Kissel. It's rather non-sequitur.

I was at the last preview performance on Wednesday. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME HOW FREAKIN' WONDERFUL THIS SHOW IS?!!! LOL. I absolutely LOVED it and can't wait to get back to the city to see it again. I loved hearing Danny sing so beautifully, loved the costumes, loved the Cagelles, loved it all!

Did anyone else find it hilarious in the second act when he introduced the mother and they applauded and then introduced the dad and they applauded and then the daughter cam out and there was like one clap from someone??!?! I though that was hysterical!!

Because she was already on stage earlier in the show.
I don't see how anyone can say that Daniel Davis sings beautifully. He has some serious pitch issues, and his voice isn't all that enjoyable to listen to.

I don't see how anyone can not not enjoy Daniel's voice, so we'll just have to disagree.

I guess I'm just not seeing the greatness of it. I thought it was okay, and it wasn't terribly boring but there was really nothing memorable about it for me.
Whoever was behind Michael Arden was sitting near me then because I was behind him too.

I do'nt see it either. Both his acting and singing is terribly mediocre and incredibly forgettable. He made no impact whatsoever.

Well I meant the whole show, not just Davis.

Did you read my review of the show? It's in the LA CAGE REVIEWS NEWSWEEK IS UP thread. I hope you agree with it.
