Saw the show last night. I bought my tickets back in the summer for only $45, and those same seats are now selling for $150. It pays to look ahead, folks!
As for the show itself - intellectually, I think it's fascinating. And Mendes' staging is dynamic and engaging. But unfortunately I just have this thing about narration. I find it extremely difficult to get hooked by a show written primarily in narration, and so as a result, I left this kind of disappointed. This is a case where my "intellectual, critical theatre brain" is at odds with my gut feelings and my visceral reaction.s Which is always tough. I really wanted to like this more than I did, and if I didn't have this pet peeve about narration, I probably would have.
