Posted: 11/21/04 at 5:33pmThe mens roles have not been announced yet. I think Adam Guettel will hold out until the perfect/italian young man walks through the door for Fabrizio. Frankly, I thought Wayne Wilcox made a great Fabrizio in Chicago (very charming). I also thought Celia Keenan Bolger was superb and Kelli O'hara was great in her original role. While I am looking forward to the spring production, I really hope the changes made are for the good of the show. I thought it was brilliant in Chicago.

Posted: 11/22/04 at 1:18amI'm intrigued by this show...but I was intrigued by Brooklyn, too, and that didn't turn out exactly as I'd hoped. I'm crossing my fingers for this one, though.

I'm intrigued too!
I wonder what the stage adaptation is like- the book is really sweet. I'm interested in what happens!

Posted: 11/22/04 at 10:02amI thought Wayne was perfect as Fabrizio in Chicago. Why aren't they using him again? For those who are intrigued, just don't expect a melodic memorable score, because that is not really what the show is about. The score is very good, but unconventional and used more for mood and emotion than for singing along. I loved the show and would see it again. It really stayed with me. And look for Victoria Clark to take the Tony.

Wayne was great, as was the rest of the cast when I saw this in Chicago.
Good point Mister Matt about the lack of a "melodic memorable score," which I have to say was somewhat of a disappointment for me. I wish I would have read something similar beforehand - I would have been better prepared.
I'm one of those theatre goers that likes to know the music before I see the show - I'm not really concerned about spoilers. I know most probably don't share that sentiment.
I would still see this again - especially with Victoria and Wayne.
Wayne has popped up on a few episodes of Gilmore Girls again this season, however, I can't imagine that is what is keeping him from the Fabrizio role.
