A year or two ago there was talk of bringing the 1960's Off-Broadway show and cult favorite "Little Mary Sunshine" to Broadway... Does anyone know what's going on with that? Its a really great show and would be a blast... Kristen Chenowith would be great as Little Mary.

Little Mary Sunshine is a spoof of Nelson Eddy/Jeanette MacDonald operettas. It has Mounties and Indians. It was done Off0-Broadway in the ealy 1960's. Eileen Brennan played the title role, before she was Irene in HELLO DOLLY. John McMartin was her leading man.

There has been a Broadway version in the works for like five years now and nothing has happened. Sarah Rice, the original Johannah in SWEENEY TODD, was/is supposedly producing it with her husband. They were going to have Eileen Brennan and John McMartin in it againm this time playing the elderly comic couple. There's a website:
