Has anyone else heard this album? The back cover says it was performed at the York Theatre Company in 1982, but I couldn't find any information about any other subsequent productions or further development, which is too bad because I really like some of the songs.

I saw it and the music was gorgeous, the lyrics a little awkward and the book even more so. Richardson was a highly underrated composer as The Grass Harp proves.

I very much agree about the lyrics being clunky in places. There's one in the opening song about being like a bishop slapping "mosqiters" that drives me crazy! The music is consistently lovely though, and the arrangements are also lovely.

I also love THE GRASS HARP, but had never realized LOLA was composed by the same person.

Richardson also wrote the score for Night of the Hunter, with Stephen Cole, and it is a gorgeous score as well.
