According to the press kit, a cast recording is planned but will probably not be done until after opening night by which time th show will be (or should be) pretty much set.
I will let you know when I hear anything more.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

They will wait until after opening and after reviews to assess the advance and see if the show will make it before the spend any more money on a cast recording (which will probably cost between $350,000- $500,000).
They will want to make damn sure that the show is going to be a success before sinking any more money into it at a critical time.
Remember that they have already spent about $30 million Canadian and need over a million to keep the show running each week. They won't lay down more money until they are sure.
