Lou Jacobi, film and stage second banana, died on October 23rd at age 95. I found him to be a very funny and warmhearted man. I saw him in the Jule Styne, Comden & Green musical FADE OUT-FADE IN(1964), playing a movie mogul in Hollywood. He even danced a little in "L.Z. in Quest of His Youth". I ran into him in the old Doubleday's Book Store on 5th Avenue later in the 1960's and told him how much I enjoyed him in the show. He smiled and sang
"Yip, Yip, Yip" which were recurring lyrics in his one song. Jacobi was a nice man. I am surprised that the BWW obituary failed to mention his being in FADE OUT-FADE IN.

I loved him. His small part in My Favorite Year is a jewel.
