After speaking with several of them, the majority of them were surprised and are saddened by the news of Daniel Davis' departure. No juciy gossip or anything, just some dissapointment. Although looking forward to the possibilites of Mr. Goulet, just not understanding WHY!
All I can say is, those are my thoughts as well. I wish the cast continued luck & success - they deserve it after dealing with what seem like tyrant producers.

Remember the "tyranical producers" didn't force him out or just plain up and remove him from the show. According to several sources him and Gary could not see eye to eye and that mr. Davis lashed out at Gary and the entire cast(i heard some where that supposedly Daniel Davis is a heavy alcholic, and you usually don't want to argue with one of those.)
On the plus side, I am very interesed in seeing Robert Goulet, being that the only things I saw him in where Beetlejuice, Scrooged, and when he guest starred on The Simpsons.

Posted: 3/29/05 at 5:34pmNone of these reports on alcoholism or Daniel and Gary not talking to each other have been confirmed. So for right now they are rumors. They fly and often leave a doubt. So I'd hold off on beleiving anything till they post an official reason. I mean Gary Beach said in an intereview in early Feb that he owes his performance to Daniel because he was such a help. He also said that He and Daniel have been friends for 30 years. You'd think something incredibly major must have happened if they weren't on speaking terms.

Posted: 3/29/05 at 5:40pmWell if as has been reported, Goulet has trouble remembering lyrics "Song on the Sand" is a perfect song for him. Irony..."in a great big Broadway Shoooooowwwwww!"

Posted: 3/29/05 at 5:50pmEven with all that it becomes more and more confusing. Daniel Davis has had almost across the board raves on his performance while an equal number of viewers have felt that Gary Beach was miscast. (Including me.) So - why fire the guy who everybody likes and keep the one who (although a great guy and talent) is obviously not working out in the role? It's depressing as hell.

I forgot to mention that I actually heared that Mr. Davis was a nasty alcoholic from a friend of my mom. My mom's friend knows Andy Pellick and she was talking to her about Robert Goulet taking over and Daniel Davis being fired the day after and my mom told me that her friend said that supposedly he is a nasty drunk.
Oh, and please if you want, but you don't have you can call me Josh instead of worrell.
