I recently saw La Cage and Sweet Charity (Wed 4/20). 2 Great shows! La Cage was great! Being young (19) not to know Robert Goulet going into La Cage...he was wonderful!! I'm so happy I got to see him perform. His "Albin" Bryan Batt was fabulous! The two guys had great chemistry together! The Whole cast was brilliant!
After hearing all the drama about Sweet Charity...I'm happy it made it's way to NY! Christina Applegate is loveable, sweet, young Charity Hope Valentine! Denis O'Hare was great as Oscar. Since I am young (19) This is the only production of Sweet Charity I've witnessed. So I cannot compare it to the original. It was really a fun show to watch and enjoy! I enjoyed the choreography re-created by Mr. Wayne Cilento. During "There's Gotta be Something..." You could tell Christina was supposed to be dancing in the trio. Maybe she's saving herself till Opening Night when resting in Numbers/taking it easy. I really do hope this show stays and has a good run, but I would advise to get actresses lined up to perform after Christina...like Charlotte! I see there are review already up for Sweet Charity and such on here! So that's all I'm gonna say! :)
