Im so sorry i know how annoying these threads. But i found out yesterday that i finally was seeing The Color Purple this Friday night. I have wanted to see this show since it opened. I have been a hugh La fan for years and I was wondering what are the chances she will be in? Does she normally do Friday nights? I normally dont worry about the stars being out of the shows I'm seeing, but with this show the main reason im seeing it is her.

You never know. I'm guessing there's more of a chance of her not being there. But there's no way to tell how she'll be feeling on Friday.

i think often
i didnt get to see her, and all the times i walked by the theatre when i was in nyc, she was always out
anyhow, that might just be me
even if you dont see LaChanze, Kenita (her understudy) is incredible, so no worries!

I guess I've been lucky. I did the rush seats twice, and both times LaChanze was in, and AMAZING! I really hope you get to see her. That's not to say her standby isn't great, I wouldn't know. Enjoy none the less.

LaChanze can't hold a candle to Keneisha Miller, so pray she is out because you'll have a much better experience.

LaChanze was in for Sunday's performance. She's leaving the first week of November.

She was on friday night and Kenita was on as Nettie. Both were incredible! Kenita is so tiny! The show was beautiful.

She's leaving in November? As in exiting the show? contract up? I cant believe its already been a year since it opened
