I saw LaPaglia in this show back in '98 and he was brilliant. The addition of Frances McDormand and Scarlet Johanson is going to make this film incredible.

should be great. maybe someone can help me remember: i know he garnered great admiration for his job in the revival, but how about allison janney and even more so brittany murphy? i just can't recall.

I've been a fan of Janney's for years now and she was the main reason I made the trip up to see the show and she did not dissapoint. I *should* be upset she's not doing this film but how can I be, when someone like McDormand is taking the role?

As for Murphy, her understudy was on the day I saw the show so I can't comment on her.

I didn't see it, but as I recall, Murphy was well-received in the role.

I have a had a question which was spurred by this thread. In the opera A View from the Bridge there is a great song by the tenor - anyone know the title? Also, it is used in audtions. (I did try to google, but no luck.)

I saw Britney, and she was fantastic. All through act one I thought "Why do I recognize that voice?" and then it hit me that she was the voice of the niece on King of the Hill.

Unfortunately, she chose to take her career in a different direction, and I don't think she would be able to pull off the role now.
