Las Vegas and new recordings?

This question came up on another forum I am in...
Do new recordings come out when something opens/is revived in Las Vegas? For example, Phantom as we all know will be opening soon there and does this mean there will be a new recording? When it moved to NYC from London, nothing new came out, yet there came out recordings from the Canadian production and a few other countries (e.g. Japan, Mexico)when it was opened there.

Not that most cast recordings of original productions include entire scores anyway.

I may be wrong but the Canadian Cast recording of Phantom was probably produced because Livent and good old Garth wanted to make more cash! They did the same with Sunset Boulevard. Oh and Ragtime. Point is they are the only Canadian cast recordings I know of or have in my collection.
The others were recorded because foreign language recordings for mega brand musicals are good business. Having a secondary Vegas Cast of Phantom seems uneccesary. I would love to hear Brent Barrett or Anthony Crivello on record but wont hold my breath.
Oh and if you have never heard a foreign language recording I recommend the Paris revival of LesMis. Robert Marien, Louise Pitre and Jerome Pradon. Sounds fab in french!

Oh come on, now. Look at Avenue Q and Hairspray. You know the answer to this.
