Well, I went to see Last Easter last night after seeing Euan Morton at the Chatterbox. For any of you who don't know, the show is a very dark comedy about a lady suffering from a brain tumor. For it being such a serious subject, the play is really beautifuly done. It is a great mix of heart wrenching monologues, and perfectly innocent comedic lines. The cast is amazing, and of course, my favorite part was Jeffrey Carlson's character. He is so clever when it comes to delivering his lines, and his character, Gash, actually reminded me a lot of Maryln from Taboo. Plus he sings a little, which was really great to hear. This play deals with very serious subjects, such as suicide and cancer, but even though it was difficult for myself to sit through it (due to personal experiences)I also feel it served as therapy for myself. I left the theatre feeling happy about life, and blessed to be where I am and to be doing what I'm doing. It definately gave me things to ponder.
I will say this, the highlight of the play is Jeffrey's monologue at the end. I don't want to spoil anything, so I really just want to urge you to go see this play. It really is a gem, and is constantly entertaining. The cast is WONDERFUL, and you can't help love each character for their own little traits. Please, please, please- Go see this play. It's wonderful, and it will not be a waist of your time. Honestly, there was not anything I did not like about it.
