My thoughts and prayers go out to a wonderful lady, her friends and family. A salute to the end of an era...

Very sad news indeed. But what a long, full life she led!

Sad...but how great that she was able to make one last trip to Broadway for this year's Easter Bonnet. The annual presentation won't be the same without her. I hope that BC/EFA comes up with a fitting tribute for her next year.

Thank you, Doris!!

Oh my, what terribly sad news!
I attended my first Easter Bonnet competition this year and I stood up in tears as she was brought out. What an incredible lady. May each and every one of us live a life as long and wonderful as hers!

OH NO!! I, too, attended this year's Easter Bonnet for the first time and her presence was a GREAT way to begin the event! She instantly bonded everyone in the room.

May she RIP. Last Ziegfeld Star Doris Eaton Travis Dies at 106

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Such an inspiration. May she rest in peace.

What an amazing lady, several years ago I designed a bonnet dedicated to her with all her fabulous pictures. I got meet her after show and she was so nice and kind. What an amazing lady. May she now join her family and entertain everyone in heaven.

So very sad. Doris was the last living connection to the Ziegfeld era -- thank God she lived to have a wonderful and rewarding life. She was one in a zillion -- RIP Doris -- your passing closes up a great era in the Broadway theatre.

What a wonderful spirit! The Easter Bonnets won't be the same without her physical presence, but her spirit will always be there.

I was literally scanning in a few photos of her for my new mega-page on Follies girls just yesterday...

Neither of the thinks to the article work.

According to Wikipedia, she was the youngest Ziegfeld girl ever cast. What naughty gal!
