My sister and I were trying to tell what people's opinions of Laura Bell Bundy are.

Yay or nay.

Like or dislike.

Hey there! I've already talked about his a couple times, but my vote is yay! I liked her a lot!...here's what I said in previous posts:

I think Laura Bell Bundy has had ups and downs, cuz I've read the stuff on the boards about her bad nights, but I saw her last wed. and thought she was really great! She's no kristin when it comes to opera-voice like woah, and she had to work harder to get the audience on her side, but she was adorable and energetic and funny, and sounded splendid, expecially during thank goodness..I think people should give her a chance, she would make a great kristen replacement if she can be more consistent

I saw the matinee, guess who wasnt there??? oh wait i know! ms. chenoweth! but in all seriousness, Laura Bell was really good today, and im really not sure who i liked better...Kristin obviously can take command of No One Mourns the wicked, and the audience much better, but laura bell injects this new youth and happiness to it...idina was more gleeful around laura bell this time, (and i had seen her with kristin in the show before the neckbrace slap heard round the world...they seemed giddy but not quite the same) anywhoo, there were a couple of mishaps today, but nothing that completely broke character. I also thought that laura and norbert looked more comfortable together....but the show was excellent as always, and idina was incredible as always...i find it so hard to believe that they can all do this two times in one day!!!! anyways... yeah so it seemed like they were all having a genuinly good time onstage today and i was definitly not sad that it was laura instead of kristin (and im not a kristin hater)--AND in response to the other laura reviews that have said she was off esp. during harmonies, that was definitly not the case today...she couldnt sustain all of her notes during no one mourns, but her harmonies were dead on, and she was so excellent during thank goodness...just my thoughts...

hope that helps (?)
always,
~m~

I like Laura Bell Bundy. I saw her go on as Glinda and I really enjoyed her; she's a gorgeous girl with an amazing talent; I really liked her operatic singing in the opening, and her belt was nice; and it seemed to me that she wasn't off on harmonies, she was just weak. Idina kinda overpowered her, so there was a little bit of an imbalance in "What is This Feeling?", but overall she was great; very funny, comfortable, and very talented. And I did think she did a GREAT job in "Thank Goodness".

She was an amazing bitch in Hairspray. HAHA

I've only seen her in Hairspray, but I thought she was very talented. Unfortunately, she didn't have a lot of music to work with in Hairspray, so I'd like to see her in Wicked to see a broader scale of her singing abilities, which I'm sure she has plenty of.

I haven't seen her, but you have to expect mishaps when someone comes in that's not the normal actor/actress. If Idina were always playing opposite Laura, then she wouldn't over-power her b/c they'd know how to blend, but she's used to Kristin. Being a standby isn't easy.

Is she related to Brooke Bundy (actress)? Daugher perhaps?

MusicPos-I'm surprised to hear you admit how hard it is to be a standby...is this the same person who would refuse to watch the show if eden was on instead of idina? or maybe i mis'heard' you....

I have yet to see her perform, but I just met her about three hours ago, and she is SO sweet. I saw her coming and said "Oh, that isn't Kristin, is it?" and my friend's like "Uh....That's Laura Bell Bundy. THAT'S (points to behind me) Kristin." It was so funny. But she was really nice, and was so excited that people were goign up to her.

It is hard to be a standby, but that doesn't mean that you should have no ability. There's no reason to be singing "Defying Gravity" so tight that it's flat through the entire thing. You have to give some lee-way, but within reason.

I haven't seen her perform yet, but when I was backstage the other night she was extremely nice. I didn't even know it was her until after.
