So my friend Sara and I went to see Legally Blonde tonight. I just got home and decided to post my review. Now, It was my first time seeing the show live. I've seen the mtv version a few times and expected nothing less than that. Let us begin.
The show opened up to the delta nu's gathering around a table. Obviously the tour has shrunk the set down and left some peices off of it. With that being said, I like the tour production (set wise) better than the broadway, with the exception of the Delta nu's "Greek Chorus" being able to be seen coming and going (no trap door)
The Show started 5 min late, not a big problem, unfortunatly some older usher woman kept causing a scene durring the "meet and greet, harvard, what ever that song it" behind me. Anywho,Laura Bell was on her game tonight. Not entirely sure if it was because she was recovering from the cast party last night or just because she was feeling good, but she sounded better live than any recording of her i've heard. Had an Understudy for Serina (you know I love my understudies) and she kicked ass. Natilie as Paulette was wonderful. I was afraid she couldnt match Orfeh, but she did tonight. The rest of the cast was great. Great energy, with the occasional mic flub here and there, and Elle cutting off Callihan durring a line about sperm, it was a great show and a lot of fun. Not a deep meaningful show, but definatly fun.
I stage doored after and met a lot of the cast. I wanted to meet Natilie and Amber Efe' who were mere feet away, but I politely said their name and they kept walking. Either they didn't hear me or they had somewhere to be, all in all, it's ok. lol. Saw Laura Bell and gave her a gift (i'm sad I know) and told her thank you. She took a pic with me and was very nice. Also, before any of the cast came out, I saw Christian Boyle, who also saw the show.
Thats about it.
