First of all, she's been schedualed to do some Eli Stone taping this fall. Second of all, she does have a rather serious medical problem she has to look after.
I think Patti's problems with absences have to deal more with what I call LaChanze-syndrome (or Fantasia-syndrome if you most) rather than Benanti taking care of a seirous medical condition or filming a TV show she's been schedualed to do for some time.

Posted: 11/10/08 at 9:59amLaura was out when I saw it Thursday night, and I'm glad for that explanation (and wish her a speedy recovery). But I was quite impressed with Jessica Rush's peformance. Yes, as Gypsy Rose she was lacking a little, but her vulnerability as Louise was heartbreaking. Her "Little Lamb" had me in tears.

Posted: 11/12/08 at 10:12pmI saw the show last night...Laura is definately sick...she had a tissue in the pocket of all her costumes, that she used quite frequently. I think i only noticed because I've seen the show before. However, her voice and acting were flawless as usual

Posted: 11/12/08 at 10:31pmFiyero2, that's so good to know for two reasons. First of all, I'm just happy to hear her go on sick. I hate when people act like her past attendance record was somehow diva behavior. At least this disproves it a bit. And secondly, that's so amazing that you say she was still flawless, especially vocally. I would think if it were bad enough that she had to have a tissue that it would also effect the performance. Glad to hear it did not. Can't wait to see this again for the third (I won't lie - and probably fourth) time when I come out in February. *grins*
