Can someone explain how a production of WSS can be to "white" when Anita is played by a black actress?

Ivan I believe it was in reference more to the male chorus--that problem was directed at the revival a lot (I believe the LONG 50th Anniversary WSS thread on here goes into specifics)
Okay, just because there's one black actress in the whole show it doesn't mean that a production can't be "white-bread."
Eric, I actually share some of your reservations (as silly as they may be) about a non-dancer directing WEST SIDE STORY.
anyone have any info on the casting agency? or when or if they're holding auditions?
