What is with your misogynistic condescension? This isn't the first time I've seen it on here. Jeez.

Hi, Broadway Guyyyyyyy! xoxo
Sweetie, you do realize that the only people on this board that actually take this much energy to accuse people of being other people are you and Phyllis, right? No one cares dear because everyone else here isn't a psycho. I could be someone else or I might just be no one else, either way, no one cares. Why? Because no one is as enamored with this board as you are. It's like this is your whole life.
Oh dear.
xoxo.

Tonight's show was also cancelled for a sick actor. We found out when we arrived 30 minutes prior to curtain.
Is this fairly common with Off-Broadway shows? I was flabbergasted when my friend, who arrived 5 minutes earlier than I did, texted me to say it was cancelled. I thought that was unheard of, though I've attended mostly Broadway shows where there are mostly always understudies.

a lot of off-Broadway productions don't use understudies as the runs are so short they don't bother as its an un-needed cost, although with something high profile like this you'd have thought they would have been smarter.

I had tickets for tonights show as well, I told my partner wouldn't it have been great if David Bowie stepped in to cover for Michael C Hall. Heck he has to know the role inside out.
Of course, a person could dream, :)

I bet he doesn't know the role at all.

When I had a ticket to a preview of The Blue Flower, Marc Kudisch's understudy wasn't ready, so they did cancel the show. I think we found out a couple hours before curtain, but I could be a little off on that.
The day we did end up going was his understudy's first performance, but we didn't find out until later (and he was great; we had no idea).

Lazarus does not have any understudies.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but understudies are only an Equity requirement when a run is a certain length.
