Whooooaaaa... I would pay boatloads for these. But... yeah, the inclusion of Adams does puzzle me. A lot. And where, pray tell, is Brian D'Arcy James?

One of these things is not like the other.

One of these things just doesn't belong.

Rather than answer specifically 'Why isn't this performer or that one in the series,' I will say (as the producer) that we asked a number of terrific guys to take part. And having written 'The Leading Men' column for Playbill.com (2003-2006), there were plenty of guys to choose from. A number of them couldn't do it due to various reasons (scheduling, logistics, personal issues, etc.). But we're thrilled with the majority of ones who could. Rather than snipe at this person or that, I'd say, 'Watch the DVDs; these guys are all talented.' And each has his fans. And every one of them gave graciously and generously of their time and talent to Broadway Cares, and we all just want to raise more money for BC/EFA.

Is there a song list for this anywhere? I don't want to buy it without knowing what they're singing...

To Sally1112: If your question is whether the DVD can be seen online, no. If it's about whether to order it online, go to www.broadwaybeat.com after Sept. 28.

To Showtuneserenade: Here's a songlist that ran at BroadwayWorld.com, along with Linda Lenzi's beautiful backstage photos.

Wow...thank you so much, Wayman, for the heads up! I am so glad that they are finally starting to capture these concerts on video. A lot of great moments in Theater and concerts are gone into the past without recording it for posterity. So, this is good news, indeed :)
I just hope they have made enough DVD's to go around...=I

Um some of these guys haven't even been in Broadway shows.... So perhaps they are the odd men out.

To B174: 'The Leading Men' concerts for Broadway Cares were inspired by 'The Leading Men' column I started for Playbill.com, and we profiled guys from Broadway, Off-Broadway and cabaret. Neither the concerts nor the columns were limited to those only with Broadway credits. We enjoy the diversity. Besides, there are terrific guys from cabaret and Off-Broadway who have gone on to do Broadway, and there are Broadway men who've also done Off-Broadway and cabaret. They're all talented and worthy of sharing the same stage.

One of my favorite things about 'The Leading Men' show is the camaraderie among the guys. I've put on various benefits and seen tons more. Because everyone's busy, it's not unusual for a performer to do his number and then take off. At 'Leading Men,' nearly all the guys have stuck around to watch their colleagues and cheer them on. No fits, no fights & no egos. re: 'Leading Men' DVDs: With Barbour, Groff, Adams, Lewis, Sieber, Morrison

To Philly03: James Barbour sang 'If I Can't Love Her' from 'Beauty and the Beast'; Kevin Earley, 'This Nearly Was Mine' from 'South Pacific' and Norm Lewis, 'Moon River.' If you scroll up earlier in this thread, there's a link to a complete songlist from 'The Leading Men IV.' To get the DVD: www.broadwaybeat.com.
