Posted: 12/20/07 at 12:08amrosscoe, lol! I actually think that the name change was appropriate. I always thought that The League of American Theatres and Producers was too long, but no one knew what The League or LAT&P meant (unless they were very much in the Broadway community). I like The Broadway League much better.

Posted: 12/20/07 at 12:15amYou know, the League does more than just negotiate contracts. Where do you think the numbers we read every Monday come from? Who do you think runs ibdb.com?

Posted: 12/20/07 at 12:27amThe people they hire to do it for them are part of the League. They are called EMPLOYEES. Without employees, The League would be an office.

Posted: 12/20/07 at 12:32amI was making a reference to the heads of the League. Perhaps I should have been more clear. It's not like they will ever crunch the numbers. They have more important things to do like think of a new name.... Updated On: 12/20/07 at 12:32 AM

Posted: 12/20/07 at 12:39amI know (for a fact) that they have been wanting to do this for a while now. They just waited until after the negotiations and strike to deal with it.
