I'm sure there must be some kind of official cast list somewhere, but off the top of my head -
Laura Bell Bundy will be playing Elle, Richard Blake will be playing Warner, Christian Borle will be playing Emmett, and Andy Karl will be playing Kyle, the UPS guy.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:08amim pretty sure no official cast announcement has been made yet
#4re: Legally Blonde
Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:13amditto....but i am sure it will be announced in the next month or so..atleast for the pre-broadway run.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:16amWell Andy Karl has been telling people he signed on for the Broadway run for a few weeks, and lists it as an upcoming project in his playbill bio at Wedding Singer. Also, Richard Blake was talking to myself and a bunch of my friends today after the show, asking us to please come and see Legally Blonde when it opens, and he said that both he and Christian Borle were definitely doing it.

#7re: Legally Blonde
Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:24amI think IDINA would do this show AMAZINGLY. Like, oh em gee.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:24amLaura Bell Bundy so LOOKS the part. I don't know what the score sounds like though so I don't know if her singing voice fits, but for now, I am absolutely content with the cast.

PARISinNYC, no need to worry about LBB's voice being right -- she sounds awesome singing that score!
And I may be mistaken, but I think the reason for the lack of casting announcement so far is that they're still looking for some of the leads.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 1:43amOh, have you heard the score? I'm assuming since Laurence O'Keefe is involved it sounds a little similar to Bat Boy right? I hope it does. I love that show.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 9:56amI'm pretty sure most of the workshop cast remains intact and I'm really sure Blake doesn't have to "beg" anyone to see Legally Blonde Fishergirl but I did enjoy your post.
#13re: Legally Blonde
Posted: 9/11/06 at 10:22amI never said he begged us - just that he asked us to see it. If the "please" implies begging, then I apologize. He asked us to come see Legally Blonde, we told him we were planning to, and then we discussed some of the casting/understudy news for the show. No begging involved.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 10:27amI still can't believe this is opening at the Palace.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 10:57amWell, when Richard and I had our standing weekly lunch, he told me pretty much the same thing Bree said, no begging involved (JK).

Posted: 9/11/06 at 11:34amIt seems that my posts have offended some - next time I will just keep to myself rather than make any mention of having a conversation after the show.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 11:38amI actually asked Jerry Mitchell about it a few days ago. He said that the cast is going to be announced on October 5th. There are still 3 roles that they're still in the process of casting.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 11:38amOh please fishergirl, LIGHTEN UP! That's why I made sure to put "jk" after my post. I'm sure all stage door experiences with actors are riveting enough to relay especially about understudies, again JK!

Posted: 9/11/06 at 11:56amIt was only one understudy situation in particular, and the only one that you'll really care about (as its the only one I care about).

Again, you fail to see the humor and or get my sarcasm and for the record I'm not one of the posters on this board who cares about and exhalts understudies. Short of this post, we can take whatever else you're referring to to IM so as to spare the rest of the posters and perhaps enlighten me.
*Edit, meant PM, not IM

I wouldn't say it sounds like Bat Boy (I love that show too), but the two shows do have catchy-and-sometimes-unpredictable melodies, as well as smart lyrics, in common. But the LB score is a bit lighter in tone, as fits with the subject matter.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 10:47pmI haven't heard any demo music from Legally Blonde and I'm absolutely DYING to hear what it sounds like. If anyone has any links or can send me files, could you PM me? That would be awesome times a million, thanks!
