Posted: 2/24/07 at 11:25amRandom, but does anyone know if there will be a cast recording for the show? I've heard rumors that there won't be one, which sucks because I really want to hear the entire score (I got a chance to hear some more songs and I've actually started to like the show.)

Posted: 2/24/07 at 11:41amThere will definitely be one, but not until they open in NY since so many changes are still being made.

Where did you hear rumors to that effect?
THere will almost definitely be a cast recording...

Posted: 2/24/07 at 1:57pmThere will be a cast recording, no doubt about that. Just not until after the show opens in NY due to changes that will happen inbetween SF and NY with lyrics and music and such.

I went to the show tonight. During "So Much Better", Elle's shoe went flying into the first row of the orchestra! No one was injured and it was kind of funny. She had to kick off the other shoe during the number.
There were some more changes to the show tonight. They don't mention "Tetris" anymore in the scene before the clothing store and the bows have been different every time I've seen the show. There were other changes to lyrics in "Legally Blonde" and scenes have been tightened. I've enjoyed this show a lot in SF and it will be interesting to see what changes they make to it for NY.

Today was apparently a good day for weird happenings. I got to see flying peices of jumprope.
I felt about this show about what I felt when I saw Wicked pre-Broadway-- it was pleasant, well-constructed, occasionally touching and funny, with an energetic and talented cast, but not something I need to see again. So, it will probably be a smash hit.

Posted: 2/25/07 at 2:36amI liked it a lot better than "Wicked". I'm not a big fan of the "Wicked" score and liked this one much better.

Yeah that shoe thing was pretty funny. Some people thought it was scripted that way “Well I guess she can’t jump in those heels on that stage”.
I missed a lot of the little things they cut, but I know they did it to tighten the show. I miss the "buys panties at K-mart" bit and yes Tetris was also funny.
As for Wicked, reading the novel ruined the show for me. It’s enjoyable sure, but it cannot compare to the wonderful book.
And maybe Legally Blonde just came along at the right time in my life. I need a good stress releaser and that’s what the show has been. A few years ago I might have just dismissed it. I’ll miss it. Hopefully my family really does take that trip to NYC this summer, and maybe I can catch it then.

HumATune -- Totally agree re: Wicked. I was so looking forward to the musical, but they took out just about every plot point that I liked (i.e. all the political stuff, and Fiyero's entire character) and turned it into your average musical comedy love triangle. I think I'd've liked it better if I hadn't read the book first (aside from a few annoying lyrics), but yeah, the book ruined me.
But back on topic... they cut the K-mart panties bit? Aww, that sucks. Anything that draws attention to Kate Wetherhead is a-ok in my book, so I'm sad to hear it's gone.

For some reason I'm having a flashback to The Wedding Singer when Tina Maddigan's shoe accidentally went flying out into the audience during "Not That Kind of Thing"....

I was going to say that, too.
