Do they really check student IDs when you go into the theatre? I'm not going to scalp my tickets, but was going to bring my mom and aunt who are not students... wondering if this will be a problem... my roommate was going to get the extra ticket for us so we'd be 2 students when we bought the tix...

I haven't seen Legally Blonde, but in general, I've never seen a theater check ID when you go in -- only when you buy the tickets. You shouldn't have a problem taking your mom and aunt at all.

Yes, they do ask for you to show student ID's at the door. But you only need one ID per two tickets. So you'll be able to take one non-student in with your ID. But your roommate would have to go to the show as well in order for you to get the other non-student in.

They are. RENT threatens to do it but they hardly ever do. When I brought my aunt, I didn't have my id so I had to get a friend who was seeing the show to get her in and then someone to get me in. It's kind of ridiculous.

Well, it's so that the tickets aren't sold to scalpers and only students get to use the student rush. This is better then what they did with Jersey Boys and just eliminated the rush policy.

I've been told that they check it 1/1 ratio for ticket/id, but then I was there and they said 2/1 is needed. so I'm really unsure about this, I would call box office and ask if I were you- and get the person's name so you can hold it to them.

Does this depend on the people working that particular performance, though? Because I have seen people with rush tickets go in and not be asked for ID.

I've rushed a few times, and I've been asked for ID 3 times... incidentally all times I was with my friends. The other times when I was either by myself or had my mom with me I was never asked, so it truly depends on who is working there at the time. And with 2 of us we've had to show one ID, but with 3 of us we needed to show 2.

Is it photo ID that is needed? I have my university ID which has my pic on it, it's a UK uni though

I think it's just university ID that will cover it- because I've rushed with people from all over and they had random ids so you should be fine!

and yes by all over i mean out of country
