I really don't know where to begin. So much to say. I've never commented on any of these boards but was so taken by the show that I was curious to see what others were saying and wanted to put my two cents in.

I guess I should begin by stating that I believe that a great Broadway musical is one that makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you gyrate in your seat and has you humming the tunes from the show hours, even days, after you've walked out of the theater. It absolutely HAS to at the prices they are charging these days!

Legally Blonde was all of that! And then some.

It was simply an absolute blast of the show. I don't regret for a nanosecond the investment of my money and time. In fact, I want to see it again before they leave SF.

It's just a damn good production.

The cast was great.

Laura Bell Bundy is totally Elle Woods. She was magnetic and funny and smart and confident and vulnerable all at the same time. Totally believable as Elle. And completely different from the Elle of Reese Witherspoon. Laura takes ownership of the character and is phenominal.

Other performer notes...

Superior performances by...

Nicole Snelson as Brooke. So hot and funny!!!
Leslie Kritzer as...can't remember the character's name. Freaking funny though!
The dog who plays Bruiser is amazing. Steals the show actually!!!
Christian Borle is a great Emmett. Completely believeable. Great casting!

The rest of the cast is great. There are no weak links anywhere in my opinion, which is rare in such a large cast.

The songs were catchy and funny. I'm still humming "Gay or European". I was doubled over in my seat laughing with tears rolling down my face. "OMIGOD" is catchy but I can see why it annoys some.

The choreography was...what can you say...it's Jerry Mitchell...F*CKING AMAZING!!!

The costumes were also well-planned and appropriate to each characters. Sets were too.

All in all...I LOVED IT! I see alot of theater all over the country and I like to think I know good and bad theater when I see it and this is very good stuff. This show will be a hit. It may not work for some of the stodgy old critics but I think that by word of mouth and the sheer dynamic force of the show will make it a hit and run for a long time.

Definitely worth every penny spent on the tickets. I had a blast!!!
