I alot of new voices who just can't wait to find this board after a Weds matinee in July for a show with very little blue haired lady appeal - I'm guessing a whole bunch of comps and a few dozen shills out there.
Jerseygurl-no one is saying it's the best show ever, no one is saying YOU MUST SEE THIS, we're just giving reviews.
Hmm, what to say about LENNON?
My main problem is how pro-Ono it is, I mean they nearly had her walk on water, it should be called Yoko-Christ Superstar!
I enjoyed Will Chase something awful, but not Chad Kimball who was kinda awful-serious miscasting IMHO..
Chase brings amazing insight into Lennon and never once becomes a parody of the man, some of the other actors are less successful in this effort, yet overall somehow it works.
The ladies of the show are all quite wonderful with Mandy Gonzalez a favorite, she's got a powerhouse voice and a wicked sense of humor, why isn't she an Elphaba in WICKED? Hmmm..
Chuck Cooper was a thrill with his renditions of Lennon's music and Terrence Mann underused to be sure was still solid and sure in his few moments..why not have him be the main narrator?
The backdrop of slide and film projections were merely photoshop quality, can't more be done in that department?
As an entertainment it fairly succeeds, yet I couldn't help feel it doesn't belong in a Broadway house, and speaking of "house", the damn thing didn't open until 7:54PM!!

I've seen a lot of complaints about this and would like to share my take. I think that this show is from John's perspective. If he saw Yoko as angelic and perfect, then that is how she should be portrayed.
