Are there any good shows from Fringe playing tomorrow afternoon/night? If so, which ones and what times? I have absolutely nothing to do tomorrow.
Also, if that fails to show promising results, I think I might go to Lennon. Is anyone else going to Lennon tomorrow night?

Posted: 8/22/05 at 3:33pmThere are a gazillion things to be seen at the Fringe. And at the risk of sounding negative, almost all of them are likely to be at least as good as Lennon. And most of them are likely to be way better.

Not that I let reviewers dictate what I want to see; however, the Wall Street Journal reviewer said that Lennon is possibly the worst broadway show to come by in his lifetime:

Add to that the fact that every other reviewer basically destroyed the show . . . I'd find SOMETHING from The Fringe. Silence: The Musical has a 2:00 PM, Fleet Week: The musical has a 9:30 PM, Weddings of Mass Destruction is at 4:45 PM . . . I'm sure you can find something to fit your schedule:

Posted: 8/22/05 at 3:37pmI don't need opinions about how terrible Lennon is, I've seen it multiple times and I happen to like it a lot. I was just curious if anyone was going to see it tomorrow night, and what was playing at Fringe. Thanks a lot though!

Sorry . . . I didn't realize you were a fan. If you noticed from my first statement, I said "Not that I let reviewers dictate what I want to see," which (obviously) you haven't.
PERSONALLY, I would go see something new. It could end up being a bust, or it could be the next hot show.
BTW -- if you don't want to hear what people think, you shouldn't ask them.

Of course, I'm really only speaking for myself when I say this, but as another big LENNON fan who has seen it multiple times (and will continue to do so as much as I can), I think that giving the WSJ any credence at all as to knowing what they are talking about in their critique of LENNON is really stretching the imagination. We LENNON fans have seen enough of the "can you top this type of bashing." We have also seen the show without bias and preconceived notions, and know of which we speak.
It appears that where the musical LENNON is concerned, people like to mention only the negative reviews. There WERE some positive reviews by critics, and there are MANY positive responses/reviews by audience members. Let's face it, whether you are paid for your opinion or not, critiques are still subjective.
Although I am not accusing you of such, it appears on some of these threads that people like to emphasize the negative rather than accentuate the positive.
Good for you that you do not let reviewers dictate what you see.
