Les Mis Cast Recording Question
#1Les Mis Cast Recording Question
Posted: 12/5/09 at 4:47pmI am going to buy a cast recording of Les Mis, and I don't know which version to buy. I have narrowed it down to 2: Original London Cast and 10th Anniversary. Any opinions on which one I should buy would be greatly appreciated.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT BUY THE ORIGINAL LONDON CAST RECORDING. Complete Symphonic is my favourite, despite the lack of chemistry some people like to complain about, but of the two you've shortlisted, you simply MUST got the 10th anniversary one.

10th Anniversary, definitely, even though it's abridged. But the Complete Symphonic Recording is just dreadful! Apart from Philip Quast and Michael Ball (who are also featured in the 10th Anniversary), the rest of the singers make me cringe.
P.S. Ruth Henshall's "I Dreamed A Dream" is one of the best renditions, and my personal favorite.

Posted: 12/6/09 at 2:30pmI think I'm in the minority, but I personally prefer the OBC, for Randy Graff and Terrence Mann, with "On My Own" taken from the OLC (Frances sounds less whiny on it)
