Les Misérables and Mary Poppins to be part of Det Ny Teater's new season

LES MISÉRABLES og MARY POPPINS I NÆSTE SÆSON
Det Ny Teater vil i den kommende sæson præsentere to helt nye, store produktioner. Sæsonen åbner i september 2009 med premieren på den hidtil største danske opsætning af en af verdens populæreste musicals nogensinde, Boublil & Schönbergs LES MISÉRABLES. Siden premieren i Paris i 1980 har den gået sin ubetingede sejrsgang over hele verden, og over 50 mio. publikummer i 38 lande har set forestillingen.


Sæsonens anden store musical-premiere MARY POPPINS bygger på Disneys magiske filmklassiker fra 1964. Her befinder vi os langt fra LES MISÉRABLES' parisiske barrikader i 1800-tallet, nærmere bestemt i Edward-tidens England i London i begyndelsen af 1900-tallet, hvor familien Banks ansætter barnepigen Mary Poppins. Hun er dog ingen ganske almindelig barnepige, viser det sig, og publikum kan glæde sig til at blive indført i en univers, hvor hele teatrets tekniske apparat, magi og illusion er sat ind for sammen med overdådige dekorationer, ekstravagante kostumer og de populære sange fra filmen at give publikum en uforglemmelig oplevelse.

Les Misérables and Mary Poppins In the next season
The Det Ny Teater, in the coming season to present two novel, large works. The season opens in September 2009 with the premiere of the biggest Danish setup of one of the world's most popular musicals ever, Boublil & Schönberg Les Misérables. Since the premiere in Paris in 1980, it passed its unconditional victory once worldwide and over 50 million audiences in 38 countries have seen the show.


The season's second major-premiere musical based on Mary Poppins Disney magic film classic from 1964. Here we are far from Les Misérables 'Parisian barricades in the 1800s, specifically in the Edward-time England in London in the early 1900s when the family Bank hires "barnepigen" (literally means "baby girl" but it's like a babysitter) Mary Poppins. She is however a quite ordinary nanny, it turns out, and audiences can look forward to being introduced into a universe where the whole theater technical apparatus, magic and illusion are deployed together with opulent decorations, extravagant costumes and the popular songs from film to give audiences an unforgettable experience."

It was supposed to open in Denmark in January 2009 but they had some problems with the rights. There was also supposed to be a Finnish premiere in January, but that didn't happen on time either. The next scheduled production is to open in Budapest in September and there is the Australian production opening in Sydney in October. As well as the Dutch premiere in Scheveningen in April 2010.
