Hey Liz - Careful what you say about others. I don't have a 'complex'. I'm just saying I felt teased for a while and would look forward to a movie coming to fruition.

Oh yeah, the one where Mackintosh talks about an upcoming Les Miz movie.

I remember seeing the non-musical when I was little. I was in like, elementry school. I just know that it bored me to death. Then cut out Eponine, and that was really sad. She was my favorite part.
And... that was the only thing I remember. I think I just slept through most of it.

i've never seen the movie, but I know it exists, because there are film stills in my French text-book.
I wish they would make a movie of it, but I think it would be really hard to pull off, much like the fiddler movie...way long and way hard to keep people intrested in....or is it just me?

There have a been a lot of LEs Mis movies.
I think the best was a 3 parter (2 hrs each or something)...
I believe it was done in French - but don't hold me to it.

Posted: 3/18/05 at 7:51pmI believe it would be an incredible movie, however...this would be incredibly difficult to bring to the screen. On stage it's larger than life, and very dramatic, and deep. The general movie public may shy away from that. Also, a sequence like "One Day More" which is visually stunning on stage...how would they portray that on film?

One Day More could be done in so many ways....As in seperate places...
But it would lose its majestic side..

Most of the film versions do omit Eponine. She is far more expendable in the novel. I've seen six or seven and I think only two had Eponine in them. The Neeson/Rush one did, but only as a child.
Here is an excellent resource to read about the various Les Miserables adaptations:
