The Thenardiers seem to be "brought to you by Revlon" in this poster.

They have more cosmetics on their mugs than the entire rest of the cast put together.

And contemporary women's makeup at that.

No, they actually look like the kind of characters that are right up his alley. And it doesn't help that there is already that connection.
