Les Miserables revival

I just want to say that I really want them to put Les Miserables back on broadway! I saw it 3 times because I was in it for 2 different show companies and it was more amazing than anything I've ever seen. The story, the music, the set, the people, everything. My best friend's brother played Gavroche for about a year and it was amazing just to see him and many others up on stage. Does any one else want to see a revival of the show?

I'm Gail and Les Miserables and Footloose are among my favorite musicals. I have been in Les Miserables as both Eponine and Cosette, and in Footloose as Ariel and Rusty. I have also been in Fame! as Carmen Diaz. I was in Annie: the 20th aniversary at only 10 years old as Molly.

Actually, I haven't seen it yet, but I totally agree...it just closed! They will not revive it quite yet.

I think that it is way to early for them to revive les miserable. For a revival to begin i think it should be at least 10 years after the original production closes. Just my thought.

You could go to London or see the 3NT.

Or, you can wait a few years when Cameron Mackintosh will no doubt do something for the 20th Anniversary.

I definitely think that eventually there will be a revival of Les Miserables, for sure. It's one of the greatest musicals ever to be on Broadway, but I do agree that it's wayyyyy too soon. It *just* closed last May.

They should air the 10th Anniversary concert on PBS for the 20th Anniv.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Sorry Eponine but its way too soon to even think about a revival. Like it was said : Let a dead dog lie.

I agree with everything else said. It seems to me like the show JUST closed; Broadway could do without it for a while. In 10 or 15 years, someone will think up a new approach and it will be something new to see. But let the show stay away from Broadway for a while. It had it's share.

Though I miss Les Mis greatly (sob sob) I agree that it wouldn't be the best move to revive it so soon. It did after all *just* close. But in a few years when it is revived (for of course it will be eventually) I'll be first on line for tickets!

"Robert Goullet as Jan Valjean. With the Weisslers producing."

Beautiful. He could use the same fake "French" accent he did in South Pacific.

I think a movie should be made of it, just to keep Les Mis alive. There are amazing things they could do with it; many cinematic moments that could be caught on film. I think they should make a film, have it released in a couple of years, and maybe have a concert of the show on its 20th anniversary.

Actually, there is a recording of it out there besides the concert version. My high school choir teacher had it, and he suscribed to a magazine that you could order choir and musical stuff from. I don't remember what it was called though.

i've actually never seen it also. my mother was afraid of NYC for the longest time so i never got to see anything growing up. i finally convinced her to see a show in october (Cabaret) and she has been on a broadway high ever since! This month we are seeing 42nd St, Aida, RENT, and Millie. haha!

But back to topic. I agree w/ everyone else. I think if they Revived it it would do good for the first couple months but then just die down. Waste of money and way too soon.

Though scattered and divided we are still its heart...AIDA SEPTEMBER 5th, 2004...one more longing backward glance... I AM NOW "TGIF!"

Well, i just found out that 3NT is coming to my area in June, so I'm good. Thanks for your opinions. They should have never ended it, i guess that's what i meant.
