Isn't the contracted for about a year?
I know, I know, she's leaving to do "A Catered Affair" eventually...wouldn't it be before her contract is up? Is there a clause that allows actors to leave early for another show or do they have to pay fines? How does it work?

Oh okay. Doesn't she have a small role though?

I guess so.. odd
Her part actually isn't that small. She's totally one of the best parts of the show. I will miss her greatly but can't wait to see her take a leading role!

Kritz says sometime end of Aug.
Ensemble members have to give 4 weeks. Not two.

she doesnt seem like an ensemble member, she has lots of parts in songs.
also all the reviews mentioned her, wich is pretty cool. she willbe greatly missed. i wonder who will be replacing her...
Maybe Traci Jai Edwards, since she already covers all the greek chorus. Though I saw Michelle Kittrell on as Pilar a few weeks ago, so maybe they'll bump up an ensemble member.
I am not sure exactly how it's determined who is an ensemble member and who is a principal. Someone said recently that in the original production of Les Miz, Valjean, Javert, and Fantine were the only principals, and everyone else had an ensemble contract. The revival apparently is different. It appears that Leslie Kritzer probably has an ensemble contract, since she is listed alphabetically with the other ensemble members on the website. (Can someone who has a Playbill tell me from the way she's listed on the title page whether Annaleigh Ashford is an ensemble member or a principal? I can't tell from the website whether she's first alphabetically among the ensemble or the last-billed principal.)

I love her. I won't lie. I think she's awesome and hilarious and the girls got pipes. My dream girl.
What exactly is her part in "A Caterd Affair" ?
And I wouldn't really consider any of the "Gree Chrous" principal roles. Sure, they do a lot, but they're basically ensemble members, just more in the spotlight than the others. They're not like the three street singers in Little Shop.

First billed ensemble- the title page principals ends with "...and Michael Rupert."
Anakela,
Thanks! Michael Rupert is listed directly above Annaleigh on the website, so it all seems consistent.
You're welcome- I was just there yesterday, my Playbill was handy. :)

The minimum to terminate your contract as an actor is TWO WEEKS.
However, it is not uncommon for Producers to put in a rider saying that they will require 4 weeks, so, it depends on that, but again, TWO WEEKS is the minimum.
They should swap her and Shindle... Kritzer would be so much better.
Saw her at Broadway Bares on Sunday and she was simply fantastic...she is the next "it" girl of the Great White Way!
I love Kritzer, but no, they shouldn't switch her with Shindle. Shindle's belt in "Legally Blonde Remix" is to die for.
Agreed TWS. The note she hits in the end of the LB Remix is amazing.
i have a good or great feeling if her contract ends in september, she will def resigh again to stay in the show. I cant believe laura bell bundy was not out for a performance yet b/c i went shows after a few weeks it opended and the lead roles were already being understudied. I hope leslie and the cast stay for a longtime since i am going xmas or thanksgiving break for college. I am a new yorker...love sports but love the thetre more.
Traci Jai Edwards should move up cause she was amazing when i saw it. Minus her mic problems.

"hey should swap her and Shindle... Kritzer would be so much better. "
It would be so much better (than beforee. lol get it.)
But I think Shindle looks WAY too old to play the role she's in now and switching is another story.
I remember seeing Kritzer in the tour of URINETOWN. Even in such a small part, she exuded humor and stage presence and beauty. I'm a big fan from afar.

Actors also have various "outs" that they may negotiate in the length of their contracts.
