I am heartbroken to hear that Little Women may be closing. And I think that may is the operative word -- why does it have to close??? Why don't we blog on their site http://www.littlewomenonbroadway.com/ and see if we can keep it open for the summer at least. How cool would it be to show what us passionate Broadway fans can do when we're revved up. I love this show, let's keep it going!
A more constructive idea would be for everyone to buy tickets. A petition won't pay the bills.

doesn't have to be true - buy tickets, tell your friends - isn't that the whole point of the show - that little people can make big things happen????
LITTLE WOMEN would need a substantial rise in ticket sales over the next week. We're talking every performance needs to sell out. Even that might not work.
There's no way to save LITTLE WOMEN. Let's just let it play out the rest of it's run and go on tour.
it was a horrible show
it had maybe 4 good numbers the whole time
I felt like falling asleep the last 20 min of it
after Beth died and Laurie wasnt on stage I hated it
I was more amused with the walls that came on and off stage then the actual acting, besides the fact that the night I was there someone had to be ushered out of the theatre durring the next to last song of act 1 because they had a heart attack or something.
IT was Just Bad, Something else could go there and actually do good, just not a show based on a "6 generation" book
besides why does the book need to be sung anyways
its a book NOT A MUSICAL
its like Wicked make it a play NOT a musical
sorry if I ofend anyone but that's how I feel on it
It's really sad that a show that can really touch people emotionally and really make them FEEL has been beaten down and out by circuses like Spamalot. Sure, Spamalot was funny and amusing, but it was a CIRCUS. It's not a great SHOW, it's great FUN. Little Women...made me feel in touch with my sister and my mother again.
I thought it was a fantastic show.
the cast was amazing and I think that Jenny Powers and Danny Gurwin or John Hickok should have been nominated for featured actors.
The set was the thing that stunned me the most in the first 10 minutes and I'm really upset that the designer lost out (I also think they should have been nominated for lighting and orchestrations).
And I think the OBCR is the most fabulous thing I've owned in a long time.
"besides why does the book need to be sung anyways
its (sic) a book NOT A MUSICAL."
-----where do you think musicals come from? Many of them start out as books or stories or even plays: Peter Pan, Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, Little Women, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, etc.

Sally, stop trying to pull a Tiny Toon, lol.
Just kidding, Tiny...I respect all that you are doing to try and 'save' Brooklyn.

awww i hate to see a show closing. anyway, the actors are all wonderful and i wish them the best and as long as they entertained and enjoyed it its good :)
I just hate that this has to close and trash like Brooklyn can stay open...
Wait, I forgot something.
If LW were to seel out this last week - and it won't - it wouldn't stay open. Otherwise, that would be the most kick aSs scheme ever!

you CANT keep it open. You have NO control over it. In my opinion Little Women deserved to close.
Little Women DID NOT deserve to close in my opinion..I think while it's not the best show it is very good. Sutton alone is worth the ticket price, and then you have such new talent like Jenny Powers and Megan McGinnis whom I both adored in the show. and to see Maureen Mcgovern? wow. I found the music great as well, not all of it I want to listen to everyday but I feel that way about plenty of long running shows. From what I've heard Brooklyn should have been the first to go.
I enjoyed this show way more than I enjoyed Avenue Q too. I thought Q was great..but this show touched me and more importantly I got to see Sutton, who is one of the most talented performers EVER.
Oh I'm so excited I'm row c center tommorow...conasidering i got the tickets today it certainly explains part of the reason it is closing
BlueCat - that's wrong. Those are producers released seats - recently.
I can get like row B for POTO....

stephaniethestar...ur talking about the talent...yes some of it is great. But the show it self sucks. You obviously never saw the movie..or read the book or play because they totally mutalated a great work of art.
(and freakin amy mcalexander is a reason to close in itself. she was TERRIBLE. that was not at all how amy should be played. )
I could name a million reasons why it should have closed...but I doubt you could sit here for that long.
Very cool, didn't know that

ok...i dont want this to sound nasty....i know this is kinda soon.....but what do u think will be going into the theatre now that it will (sadly) be vacant?
cathyhyatt- the MOVIE was HORRENDOUS. I've hated every single version. The book is a brilliant and beautiful piece of work and I happen to think that the musical did it credit. You can't fit every part of it into a show AND keep people's attention. And in criticizing amy mcalexander you seem to forget any hand that the director has in things. However I thought that she did an excellent job.
But I've said this before and I'll say it again. While the show is the same story that Louisa May Alcott wrote, it is a totally separate entity and you can try to appreciate it for what it is as opposed to constantly bashing it by comparing it to the epitome of a beautiful novel.
I have seen the movie, never read the book, but still being unfamiliar with the story I understood 99%of it. I don't remember being like "wtf just happened?"
I think it was a good show and while I didn't expect it to run for years I'm still angry that it is sooo quick. I would expect a show like this to at least play until AFTER the tonys.
Why don't you contact Frank Wildhorn I'm sure he knows some idiot with money who likes to keep crappy shows open.
