Letting Loose at Broadway By The Year and Budding Artistry

Watching each and every production of Broadway By The Year is exciting for me. Scott Siegel provides us with entertainment that also provides performers with the opportunities to stretch, take chances and/or let loose. They all seem to take advantage of this.

Last night's Broadway By The Year 1929 was no exception. Two of the standouts for me were Noah Racey and Nancy Anderson. Quick! Somebody cast these two in the leads of something right for them! I could hardly stand it they were so good together in every way.

This is not to mention Noah's choreography and dancing with Jeffrey Denman. They were an additional treat.

Leslie Anderson reminds me of a great combination of Lucille Ball and Martha Raye! If we were in the 1940's, this gal would be staring in back-to-back shows.

I missed Marc Kudisch. His work in BBTY has gotten stronger & stronger with each show. I forget the show that Kudisch did his Elvis take-off in, but that performance is 1 I'll remember for a very long time.

Ron Bohmer was a real discovery for me. Great voice! To my ear, I feel he's a tenor w/a bariton extension, almost the sweetness of an Irish tenor. Others I spoke w/thought he's a bariton. (Personally, I long for the heroic bariton of John Raitt or Gordon MacRae to return to favor. But that's another matter). However, I'm very happy to listen to Bohmer sing just about anything

I love watching everyone in these shows. Performers in this series consistently have the complete package: talent, smarts, the right looks, personality and charm. And we get the extra special pleasure of discovering and rediscovering songs.

I hope the director comes back.

Kudos to all, including the marvelous musicians and Scott Siegel's producing and informational quips.
