Life as an Actor stories

I was thinking about an interesting story that I heard Donna McKechnie tell one time. She said that when the cast of "A Chorus Line" started out that none of them could get credit cards because actors were considered a bad risk (limited job opportunities, etc).

Bloomingdales wanted the entire "A Chorus Line" cast to appear in their store, but had refused credit cards to the cast. McKechnie said that they all agreed none of them would appear unless Bloomingdales issued them credit cards. Bloomies was forced to issue the actors credit cards and the cast did appear.

Does anyone have any other great Life as an Actor stories?

Most actors that I know should still be considered high risk!
