Light...Piazza Student Rush

Has anybody done it? Where are the seats located? How many tickets are there? Are they hard to get? I'm looking to go Thursday night and I was just wondering. Thanks!

re: Light...Piazza Student Rush

The only student tickets program there is for Piazza is this one: http://www.lct.org/studentix/. You just register and then you can buy a ticket for $20 IN ADVANCE to any of their shows. You can only get one student ticket per show for the duration of the run, but it's better than nothing.

If you're referring to the listing on Playbill.com (http://www.playbill.com/celebritybuzz/article/82428.html):

"The Light in the Piazza
Type: Student Rush
Price: $20 per ticket
Amount: 1 ticket per person
Time: 2 hours prior to curtain"

That doesn't exist.

re: Light...Piazza Student Rush

They don't have a regular student rush program. Lincoln Center has a program called Studentix, which is basically a student rush, minus the RUSH! You can sign up for the program online on the Lincoln Center website. Anyone under 35 with a valid student ID is elligible, and it is free to register. Once you sign up, you can order your ticket (only one ticket per Studentix member) online through Lincoln Center for $20. You can even book your seats next to your friends (whether they are Studentix members or not).

I just booked my ticket through this program and got front row center orchestra seats for only $20! In my opinion it is the best student program in the city!

Hope this helps! Enjoy the show!

actually, they do (or did?) have a regular student rush program because WickedRentQ got a ticket 2 hours before curtain for $30 after having already done studentix but I dont think it has a designated area, I think it was just a way to sell a few more tickets the day of the show. they may not be doing anymore tho if the show is selling well i guess.

re: Light...Piazza Student Rush

Oh geez I was relying on the 2hr before student rush for the weekend. Has anyone showed up two hours before the show recently to get a rush seat? I already used my student tix seat.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

re: Light...Piazza Student Rush

My friend went a few Thursdays ago, two hours before curtain, to try and get a ticket and they said they didn't have that kind of rush policy, so I'm guessing they don't do it anymore.

It would be nice if they still did it, though.

You can try TKTS...I went on Thursday at like 6:30 and they still had plenty of tickets. They were half off...so it was only like 50 bucks.

re: Light...Piazza Student Rush

They do have student rush. I did it like two weeks ago. The thing is they don't reserve tickets for student rush. If they're sold out two hours before the show you're out of luck. I was out of luck the first time, but then I went to the box office two hours before a matinee and they had a ticket for me ($30). It was in the next to back row so that's kind of gross, but it is a small theater and I was just happy to see the show. (I'm listening to my CD right now!)
It's eckspecially apropos So if you really want to know Do I love you? Don't aks.
