What are the odds of PBS broadcasting the closing performance of Light in the Piazza like they did for Contact?

*sigh* A wild dream, I'm afraid.
Although it would be nice!
*sigh* don't I wish!

maybe if we all write letters to PBS, theyll consider it, but i really doubt it, as much as i want them to. and even if it does happen, it wont be the same b/c odds are by the time theyd get around to doing it, they wont all be original cast members.
It would be so great if it were to air on PBS but I'm not getting my hopes up. If only Sondheim were involved somehow then it would be on PBS or be released on dvd.
Ohhhhh...that'd be fantastic if it happened
Why wouldn't they? Swept the Tony's! I'd kill to see it!
That would be amazing. Although, I'd think they'd want the OBC for the final performance.
We had a thread about this a few months ago. I located the email addresses of Great Performances and Live from Lincoln Center so we could harass them in greater numbers. I'm afraid it didn't have much effect...maybe Adam will just use some of his gazillion dollars to produce a recording...

We should be grateful that Great Performances won't get their hands on it. I shudder to think of LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA subjected to the same pack of idiots who brought us that atrocious broadcast of CONTACT a few years ago.

Adam is on PBS right now for the Richard Rodgers special.

When INTO THE WOODS was taped for television, Bernadette Peters returned just for the taping.

I hope that's the case of the original cast... I would love to see all of them on PBS!

This would be too good to imagine.
While the topic is up, does anyone know what became of the Caroline or Change tape?
If Bernadette came back to record ITW, I don't see why Matt can't come back to record Piazza. Now how do we make it happen?
Oh what I wouldn't give...

I'm just guessing, but I'm sure The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization control the rights to the show...You might e-mail them and maybe whisper in there ear (so to speak) that this is something fans want. I think it would be a great addition to GREAT PERFORMANCES...

this is the perfect show for great performances and i would kill to have its perfection taped.
I don't think they had the original cast for the Contact performance.
If this ever happened, I would faint with happiness
