Looking at pictures of the magnificent 9/11 lighting memorial, a question occurred to me.
From the photos, the twin shafts of light remain separate until they dissipate into the sky. Most non-laser lighting seems to spread and dissipate. Would the spots/lenses need to be specially designed for the effect that we see?
