Linda Eder, the powerhouse singer seen on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde, will celebrate songs from the silver screen on her newest solo recording.

Entitled "Soundtrack," the single CD is due on the Verve Records label Oct. 13. Peter Collins produces.

Among the disc's 12 tracks are "Charade" (from "Charade"), "Falling Slowly" (from "Once"), "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" (from "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves"), "Against All Odds" (from "Against All Odds"), "If I Can't Have You" (from "Saturday Night Fever"), "Valley of the Dolls" (from "Valley of the Dolls"), "Accidentally in Love" (from "Shrek"), "I Can't Help Falling in Love" (from "Blue Hawaii"), "Everybody's Talkin'" (from "Midnight Cowboy") and "We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)" (from "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome").

"We did most of the music in a jazzy pop version, which really worked for me," Eder said in a statement. "We wanted to find arrangements that were a little different and worked for my voice."

I really like the song "Accidentally in Love," but I can only imagine Linda's version?? I thought I read somewhere that Frank Wildhorn really liked that song, so I'm assuming she's gotten connections with him for some of these and of course, Nan Knighton did Saturday Night Fever.

Good for Linda though for somehow keep managing putting out these records!! What a voice!

Hmmm....I'd like to go but that's the same I'm taking my sister to a matinee for her birthday. I know she'd like to see Linda Eder but I'm concerned it would be too long a day for her. I'll have to think on this one.

As a heads up, be sure to wait when purchasing this new CD.
For her last two CDs, Barnes and Noble sold special editions.

I don't think this is going to work out for me. Sad

I'll be there......got my tickets a few weeks ago.

Pianolin717, you write that you'd go, but the tickets are too much. What site are you looking at? My Center Orchestra seats are $56 each.

To be honest, Eder usually charges around $40-100, so it is pretty much in the lower range for her. She is worth every penny, I can pretty much guarantee it for you re: Linda Eder's New CD: 'Soundtrack' to be performed at Town Hall 10/17.

Yes, Linda's concerts are always very reasonably priced - always have been. The most I paid for her was $250 - but, that was New Year's Eve at Feinstein's 2 years ago. And, for New Year's Eve....with dinner, a concert and a wonderful experience...that's a bargain - a steal.

oh, well, it's not that it's that much money, but personally, I'm not ready to spend that much (at this time) on it, but, actually, this might change... so I might end up going if I somehow get more money than I'm expecting :)

Sounds like you've all ready decided to go see her. That's great. But, get your ticket now.

$56 for seeing Linda in concert is a steal...a very inexpensive evening, seeing one of the best singers there is.

If it was just me I'd be there in a heartbeat. But I just can't have my sister out that long. She gets tired and cranky. She wouldn't enjoy herself and I couldn't take her home and be back to NYC in time.
