I've been loving the new recording of My Fair Lady. I find that a new recording with different voices fights listening laziness and allows me to re-listen more closely and notice lyrics, music, and rhymes that I previously missed.
I'm sure you're all saying "duh!" but I never really noticed the skittering counterpoint in "I Could Have Danced All Night" - the song owes it ALL to that wonderful element.
What things have you appreciated when listening to revival recordings that you never really noticed in the original?
