Does THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED have student rush ticket, because its never at TKTS? Also is it worth seeing? Thanks!!
Don't waste your time or your money.
Yes, it is totally worth seeing. I loved the show and Julie White is hysterical.
They have youth rush, which is $10 cash, an hour before all non-sold out performances, but I believe the show has been selling out a lot lately. So, you might be out of luck.

oh ok thanks, for $10 I guess its worth going to ask a few times.
Yes, it's worth seeing. I saw it a couple of days ago, and I think they've done a fantastic job with it. It's kind of a weird play, but the production fits. Love the set, especially. And like a lot of people have said, Julie White steals the show.
Tickets are going fast, since they got that rave in the Times, but they've extended a couple of weeks.
I think there are student advance tickets for $20, or something like that. Go to www.secondstagetheatre.com
Any play that includes a joke about Matthew Shepard doesn't deserve anyone's money, time or attention.
Um, do you know what SATIRE is?
They were hardly *making fun* of it. Sh*t. The exact line is on the tip of my tongue. Anyone know what it is?
I think that a lot of people are offended by the way Beane addresses the issue, because a lot of his writing comes from the viewpoint of someone who is IN a community and therefore feels he can make fun of it. You know, the way Jews think it's okay for THEM to tell Jewish jokes, but might be offended if someone else tells it?
Emcee, the line (slight paraphrasing, possibly) was:
"Insert name of gay teenager who was bashed to death and became a celebrity."
Funny, the night I attended the play, the (largely gay) audience gave that entire scene, including that line, riotous laughter.
You're right, that's it. I think it was "insert name of teenager who was gay bashed to death..." etc. You have a good memory!
The audience was similar the night I saw it, MEF. And they were roaring with laughter!
Yup, aisle rolling and gut bursting seem to be typical reactions at this show!
And I do agree with you: I see no difference in Beane making gay jokes as I would with Jackie Mason telling a Jewish joke or Chris Rock telling a black joke. It is satire, after all.
Right. He's not making fun of what happened to Matthew Shepherd. He's satirizing a MUCH bigger picture -- he's satirizing the entire situation, and people who do and say the kinds of these characters are guilty of.
any student wanna take ao old theatre geek to the show?
Isn't Student Rush ageist?

A little, yes.
But I hope you were joking and can sort-of see the logic behind it...
Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if a discount code turned up a couple of weeks into the run.
The show actually doesn't have student rush. It has youth rush, available to anyone 25 or younger, student or not.
I do find student rush a bit ageist, though. I commend shows like THE COLOR PURPLE and BRIDGE AND TUNNEL for offering general rush tickets.

Yea, I know I'm going to feel that way when I'm older, and it's gonna suck.
I was only half kiding. and i understand the concept, it's just that i go to the theatre so much i like to get the deals.
The Public Theatre has quick Tix for their shows at any age.
Saw See What I wanna See for $12.
All that talent at that price was sweet!
I went last week for Student Adv. tix and they said they cancelled it because they've been selling tickets so rapidly. However, (I haven't checked since Thursday so this may not still be the case) you can buy Student Adv tix still on the website.
