For someone who hasn't seen the show (and probably won't get to see it on Broadway), can any of you explain the significance of the title? I know it's some twist at the end, hence the spoiler warning up top. Thanks.
I don't remember the exact significance of the title in the context of the play. However, the Little dog Laughed is a line from the rhyme Hey diddle diddle.
Hey diddle diddle,
the cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
Julie White quotes this at the end. I know it relates to the characters, but I'm sort of fuzzy on the details.
that's the best I can do for now. sorry
