Don't you think LM pushed its opening night a bit far back? If it were a show in good shape, wouldn't they want to open ASAP to get the reviews? I dont know about this one...
So they do have a new opening date...When is it?
Yes, I think January 10th is too late because my tickets are for Dec. 30th.

Lets see... The strike was 19 days. It was going to open December 6th. So lets add 19 days to that to make up for the strike and we get....December 25th. Also, add the fact that they ONLY did 5 performances on Broadway before the strike happened. Adding on another two weeks of buffer room for the cast and crew to get back into gear doesn't seem to ridiculous at all, especially considering the show was in PREVIEWS when the strike started. Stop being so negative.
I don't think that they pushed it back a ridiculous amount, even if they needed more time for workshops then they thought, they just took advantage of the situation. It's no big deal, it's smarter to get it perfected then put on a show that's only half complete.
I think the biggest factor on what night to choose was that they want a lot of seats for VIP's on opening night. Their three choices were to a) add a Monday performance and give the tickets to the VIPs (costly) b) cancel an already sold performance and give those tickets to VIPs (unpopular) or c) select a performance far enough out where they could take a large bulk of the unsold tickets and give them to VIPs. Hence the date being far out.
I'm not surprised...from what I've heard from a very reliable inside source...the show needs work and they know it.
Can someone explain this to me? I have a ticket for the Wednesday, December 12th matinee. On the website, it says that there will be a show that day. Will there? Are they still in the "previews" period? Or is the website wrong and there are absolutely no shows until January 10th?

There are shows starting tonight, but they are previews until January 10.
I don't think they want to do it around the holidays. It might be tough to get critics in then, and perhaps even there are some cast members who have pre-arranged time off. I don't think January 10 is that ridiculous at all, when you consider they had only played not even a full week of shows before the strike.
Okay, great. Thanks. Just wanted to make sure that there was a show at all. I don't really care about the "preview" part. Good to know.
