So I have had the movie for quite some time but recently the movie soundtrack was only 5 bucks at Tower so it was a steal and I bought it. But I noticed it had...Finale (Don't Feed the Plant)...I checked the movie to make sure and i was right it is not in the film...so can anyone explain this? I am sorry if i bringing up a redundant topic :/

Oh and also the people from the movie do not sing on the recording either...its more uniform but I sort of like the randomness of voices etc. from the movie....eh

any info would be awesome thanks

That film went through so many changes before being released.
The original ending had Audrey II eat everyone and then go on to destroy NYC. It was all done to "Don't Feed the Plants". This ending didn't test well in initial preview screenings of the film so it was edited out and a new happier ending was filmed to replace it.
The soundtrack album simply left the song in. Some voices heard in the actual film aren't heard on the album. Noticeably the old bag lady's vocal from "Downtown (Skid Row)" in the original film was replaced by Michelle Weeks (who played "Ronette") on the album. Some other minor vocals and musical arrangements vary from the tracks used in the film but overall not really that big of a difference.

Yeah - I wished they did the unhappy ending with the Finale...I love that song - I think it takes an unhappy ending with a upbeat twist...I like the inversion of the emotions through it...

TY for info...It was puzzling me. But man o man do I love LSOH...it is seriously probabally my #1 musical
