shoshana bean is a soprano ,but also an amazing mixer
i mean they all got the classical range and training people learn the real stuff or else you will get no where
I must ask how Shoshana got involved?
I enjoyed Little Women. It made for a fun evening, but not much more. A mediocre score with a few good songs and a mediocre book does not a successful musical make. These factors killed the attendance of the show. For the shows last weeks, it sold maybe 45% attendance at best. It just couldn't be salvaged. With a betetr score and better developed book, it might have had a chance.
I'd just like to point out how good the music is in this show, in my opinion. Sure, the lyrics are generally AWFUL, with a few exceptions, but Jason Howland did a great job with the orchestrations. I don't think he got the credit he deserved at all. I love the show, despite it's flaws, simply for its heart. I find that it is better than WIW by far, which I can't stand listening to.

I'm okay with you liking the music as long as you can admit that the second to last song, that "It was the most amazing thing" song, was absolutely horrible.
I actually remember really liking the song between the two sisters, where Sutton Foster flies the silly-looking fake kite.
I agree that this show was mediocre at best. I didn't feel like relationships were very well established and it hurt the emotional impact that "Little Women" is capable of. The plot was rather confusing with the changes in time and major events happening off-stage with a only a mention in passing. The lyrics were trite and perdictable. I did enjoy all of the performances and I thought the orchestrations were beautiful.
I got my friend's free ticket because she didn't want to go. I saw why.
I saw the tour...I liked it, although I found some boring spots that dragged on and you just wanted them to end! Some of the songs were good and enjoyable. The first Act seemed much longer than the second act.
> Maureen McGovern was awesome though! I saw the Jo understudy (Susan Spencer) and I liked her as well.

The "mother-daughter" ad campain hit a point. It was not my kind of show either, but I went to see it anyway, only because I enjoyed so much seeing Sutton Foster in Millie. I liked the show more than I thought I would (didn't care at all for the movie) and especialy those scenes where Jo (Sutton) was reading her stories.
I stick with my original post in this thread, but the orchestrations are great. I love the overture.
And the majority of the songs are good. I'm just not buying the freaky umbrella metaphor.
