The show was enjoyable. The second act was marvelous. And yes, I know it's the big showstopping number but some of the other songs are so much more wonderful. Why in God's name do they keep using this?
Maureen McGovern stopped the show, LITERALLY, with her ballad 'Days of Plenty'. The audience sat in silence and there was a long pause in the show it had gotten so emotional. THAT is a performance.
Days of Plenty is an amazing song and Maureen McGovern's performance of that song is absolutely breath taking, but it's the wrong song to use on a television performance. TV performances are nothing more than marketing tools to help sale tickets. Days of Plenty is an emotional song about dealing with the death of a loved one. Put that on television and everyone will think that the show is only about death and grief. Who would want to see that? Astonishing is a much better song to bring in an audience and sale ticket. I hate to even mention it but Astonishing is to Little Women what Defying Gravity is to Wicked. That's why DG was used on just about every tv appearance with the exception of BonB.

Anyone have a video of this that they can send me?
F*** me! I missed it!?
I'm going to go pout now...
I knew I should have stayed home this morning and watched television... I KNEW school was a bad idea... darn it.
For once I'm glad I got up early, because I got to see it. So good!
